The affluent suburb of Main Beach to the Gold Coast is what Toorak and South Yarra are to Melbourne or Vaucluse and Double Bay are to Sydney.

The upmarket island like suburb of Main Beach lies between the Gold Coast tourism Mecca of Surfers Paradise and the commercial locale of Southport.  Bordered by the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and tranquil waters of the Gold Coast Broadwater and Main River system.   Main Beach has evolved into the boutique upmarket suburb of the Gold Coast with its highly favoured residential living.  An ultimate lifestyle where one can dine alfresco and enjoy the company of friends at sidewalk cafes and restaurants without even hopping into a car.

It is a cosmopolitan and oh so chic destination and is also one of the Gold Coasts strongest performers in terms of property growth. In the last five years to 2003 house price growth in Main beach lifted more than 100 per cent, primarily as a result of the limited supply of standalone dwellings.   Leaving the total annual property return on housing at Main Beach to 19.2 per cent, which comprises a 16.8 per cent median price growth.

One of the biggest success stories in Main Beach has been the popularity and development of townhouse living.    The Western side of Tedder Avenue, zoned Res A and B allows for complete assurity that multi-storey and hi-rise will never be developed on this side.  The Western strip therefore boasts a picture perfect residential niche in Main Beach incorporating architecturally designed homes and villas alongside the Broadwater.
